Calling Tech Support!
For anyone who may have the foggiest idea about computers, two very important (for me, anyway) questions.

I've had my laptop about nine months. Aside from the occasional freezing, which happens to every computer, it's worked like a dream. No complaints. No sign of glaring flaws.

1. Last night, a few of my keys started acting up. My 2 key would display 23, my w key we, my s key sd, and my x key xc. I couldn't figure out why and it persisted. It happened briefly with the 3, e, d, and c keys (32, ew, ds, cx), but that went away fairly quickly.

I took off the keys to check if anything was catching underneath them -- nothing. If you press the rubber portion of the key directly, it did the same thing.

Does anyone know what might be causing that?

2. When I took off the S key, the black portion holding the rubber bit to the keyboard broke off. I'm somewhat at a loss as to how to reattach it. Anyone know how, or have any other ideas as to how to keep the rubber bit in place?

I feel a bit guilty, because the laptop's less than a year old -- and also, I type at 101 WPM, and having keys missing/screwing up and forcing me to type slower is extremely annoying. Help, someone?

it sounds like there is a problem with the voltage in the capacitors that measure the keystrokes...you can usually buy a new laptop keyboard for around 50 dollars that are fairly easy to install. If it goes, away...i'd just ignore it. As for reattaching the key...try a small amount of putty or something similar

It hasn't come back for a while, so I think it's fine, hopefully. And I'll try that. Thanks a lot.

I would help, but I know absolutely nothing about computers, except enough to get me by.

Yeah, usually. >_> That's with all my insane amounts of typos. It slows down to 90-some if I watch for them.
